ISEC at ISHD Conference 2019

Next September, Stefano Agnoletto (Fondazione ISEC- BI Norwegian Business School) will discuss the paper “Teaching migration history in Milano’s schools (2015-2018). An educational project on the history of Italian emigration” at the ISHD-International Society for History Didactics International Conference. The ISHD conference “Migration and History Education” program envisages a debate about the challenges for experts in history didactics and history teachers posed by the migration: migration is regarded as a key issue of the 21st century, which has an obvious and growing significance for all contemporary societies, regardless of whether and to what extent they are currently affected by emigration and immigration. However, migration has already been an integral part of the history of human societies from the earliest beginnings. Therefore, history education must take on the task of providing students with an appropriate understanding of migration history throughout the ages.

ISEC at ITH Conference 2019

Next September, Stefano Agnoletto (Fondazione ISEC) will coordinate a panel at the 55th ITH-International Conference of Labour and Social History 2019 “Working on the Land: Actors, Societies and Environments”. The conference aims at strengthening the links between labour history and rural history. It intends to address the topic “working on the land” from two different angles: firstly, agricultural work as co-production of society and nature and, secondly, rural labour relations as elements of larger political and economic systems. Contributions to this conference will explore how these two perspectives complement each other, identify research desiderata and blind spots in the respective other, creatively develop bridges and contribute to the theoretical, methodological and empirical enrichment of the history of agrarian work and labour.

Preliminary Programme

Dialoghi a Villa Mylius | Seminario di discussione di Zapruder 39: “Fake. Vero falso verosimile”

Lidia Martin, redazione Zapruder
Adolfo Mignemi, Società Italiana per lo studio della fotografia-Sisf

Coordina Stefano Agnoletto, Fondazione ISEC.
